Significant Harm
Overall Purpose
To develop, drive, oversee and monitor the
implementation and quality assurance of Strategic
Objective One, namely:
‘To identify and ensure that the needs of children and young people suffering or likely to suffer significant harm are met’
‘All children that come under a Section 47 Enquiry’
Terms of Reference
-
To develop and review safeguarding policies and procedures.

To ensure that effective arrangements are in place which safeguard and promote the welfare of children suffering or likely to suffer significant harm
-
To monitor, evaluate and ensure that appropriate arrangements for quality assurance and auditing of services are in place
Frequency of meetings
Bi-monthly, however meetings may be called at
other times if this is thought to be necessary.
Accountability
The Significant Harm Sub-Group will report to the
CSCB.
Core Membership
The membership of The Significant Harm Sub-Group is
based on multi-agency representation. The Chair of
the group should also be a CSCB member. The
sub-group should have suitably skilled staff.
