Vulnerable Children's Sub-group
Overall Purpose
To
focus on developing, driving, overseeing and
monitoring the implementation and quality assurance
of Strategic Objective Two, namely:
‘To identify groups of children and young people who are particularly vulnerable (children in need as per section 17 of the Children Act 1989 and those included in section 11 of ‘Working Together’ 2006) whose needs are not effectively being met and begin to identify ways of meeting these needs’
Terms of Reference
-
To lead in the development of identifying groups of children and young people who are particularly vulnerable (i.e. Children in Need as per Section 17 of the Children Act: 1989) whose needs are not effectively being met.

To identify ways of meeting their needs.
-
To ensure that effective arrangements are in place through appropriate policies and procedures which safeguard and promote their welfare.

To monitor, evaluate and ensure appropriate quality assurance of such services to vulnerable Children in Need.
-
The group to be known as the Vulnerable Children’s Sub-Group.
Frequency of meetings
Bi-monthly, however meetings may be called at other
times if this is thought to be necessary.
Accountability
The Vulnerable Children’s Sub-Group will report to
the CSCB.
Core Membership
The membership of The Vulnerable Children’s
Sub-Group is based on multi-agency representation.
The Chair of the group should also be a CSCB
member. The sub-group should have suitably skilled
staff.
